Yusho Fūjiwara is the current Monarch of the Fahren Continent. He is also the Commander-in-Chief of the Knights of Delta, overseeing the organization as part of his duties as Fahren's leader. He serves as a recurring character in Hero's Justice: Kamen Rider Varia.

Character History[]

Background[]

As a member of Fūjiwara Clan, leader of the Fahren's Seven Noble Families, Yusho was destined to become the Monarch from birth, eventually succeeding his father and governing the entire continent for many decades. As the current Monarch, Yusho handles all the political side of Fahren's governance: from diplomacy, to executive decision-making. As such, he is often quite busy with his numerous tasks and would leave the Knights of Delta's management to Kaoru. Still, he has made strong connections with fellow noble families and other governing bodies outside of Fahren. He is also known to be close with the Varia Organization's Superior General.

50-Day Siege[]

Despite being the leader of Fahren during the siege by World Shocker, he was largely absent during the majority of the battles, only arriving during the final moments of the war. It was later revealed that he went into a self-imposed exile at another world during the Siege, taking with him Akihito and Mitsuomi Oozora as bodyguards, and leaving his then secretary, Kimiko Okada to lead the Knights of Delta. Following Kimiko's death, he would legally adopt Kaoru as his own daughter, though she wouldn't recognize it and acted confrontational with him every time they're in the same room. Still, Kaoru accepted her succession as the KOD's leader, not wanting her mother's legacy be adopted by the Monarch.

Events in Hero's Justice[]

Yusho first appears in a surprise visit to the KOD base, revealing that the Arcane Delta-Rise Driver was supposed to be delivered to the Varia Organization, as part of their joint plan to regain the public's trust. He would later try to reconnect with his adopted daughter by inviting Kaoru to dinner, only to be stood up upon learning that an emergency took place at the Fahren Park. Shortly after leaving the restaurant, he and Mitsuomi would encounter Mugen, who says he wants to speak with him.

When Kaoru was abducted by a revived Ryuo inside the KOD base, Yusho personally took control of the KOD's operations and issued a stand-down order, handing the rescue mission to the Jenis Royal Guard. He also personally visits a detained Shio and reveals his connection with Kurogane Hadou, simply airing his disappointment that his friend's apprentice couldn't live up to his expectations.

Personality[]

Yusho is a wise and calm old man, having governed the Fahren Continent for a few decades as the Monarch. As such, he is constantly in the know of situations and oftentimes would make sound decisions that would benefit everyone involved. While initially viewed as good-natured and down-to-earth, he's eventually shown to be very shrewd and calculating. He knows when to be strict and be challenging to others and would often say the right words to motivate or put down other people depending the situation. His predictions about what's happening with Fahren and the events that were to follow are alarmingly accurate, which paints a picture that he may have more to do with these events transpiring.

Fan Casting[]
