Synopsis
Theo, Céline and Jules encounter a fellow high-schooler named Marinette one day when they are trying to pet a three-starred cat. The next day, they find out that Marinette is a girl of many talents, who Theo just happens to come across again that very day.
However, when Marinette takes him to different stores in town, Theo realizes that the former isn't enjoying it at all...
Plot
As the beautiful Marinette Chalamet walks along a path, Theo, Jules, and Céline come across the fabled "three-star cat", a special stray that is said to bring good luck to each of the establishments he visits. Hearing this, Theo tries to pet him but he dodges every attempt before proceeding to kick him in the face after spotting the curious Marinette approaching. The trio are left awestruck by her radiance as she effortlessly pets the cat. Marinette takes off after commenting on how she hears words of adoration so often, and confirms that she likes nor dislikes cats when asked by Theo.
Céline believes she has seen this girl before, and to the surprise of Theo and Jules, she confronts them during recess at school the following day with an article about Marinette. She's actually very famous around here, because not only is she talented at everything, but her good looks and personality make her extremely popular. She even has a secret fan club.
Meanwhile, in her class, Marinette boreally gazes out of a nearby window as some classmates approach her to invite her to a nearby sweet shop after school. She politely turns down their offer. In town, the greedy Maquillon observes the shop in question before declaring that she must get every last lollipop she can in order to become beautiful.
Later that day, Theo attempts to get the three-star cat to let him touch it. It fights him off and when Theo attempts to pounce on it, he dives straight into a bush as Marinette appears. He is very disappointed when Marinette seems not to recall him from their prior meeting, but he is impressed while watching her pet the difficult cat once more. He asks how she does this and Marinette proceeds to stroke under his chin, which causes Theo to feel at ease. Marinette asks if he likes cats and Theo explains that from felines, he feels a sense of defiance, and he can't just turn away from a challenge. Marinette finds this to be very amusing, and charmed by Theo's behavior, she gets up and grabs his hand to take him into town.
They visit various clothing shops, where Marinette uses Theo to ask for his opinions on various clothing items. But Theo's fawning over how perfect she looks causes her displeasure. They head out to play a crane machine, where Theo fails to grab any of the cute fruit plushies, while Marinette effortlessly gets one; followed by several more, which she gives to Theo after informing him that she has never played this before. While walking through town they come across the sweet shop, Mou Meringue, but after Theo suggests they grab some lollipops seeing Marinette longingly gaze into the window, he is disappointed upon finding out the shop is all sold out. Marinette thanks Theo for joining her today, saying it was a lot of fun, but Theo isn't so sure, asking her if she really had fun, because it didn't look that way. Marinette insists that she did and she prepares to leave, only for Theo to stop her and suggest they make lollipops together.
Bringing Marinette back to the Sweet Tooth, Theo explains what their plans were to Jules and Céline as she pets Pekorin. However, they point out that making lollipops won't be very easy; it's something that even the most of professional confectioners some times struggle with. Marinette feels intrigued with this, swiping the book from Jules without his notice and she overlooks the recipe. Theo is very excited but Céline and Jules are concerned as they grab their aprons and get started, but as Marinette sees the trio having trouble stirring the batter, she steps in to lend them a hand. She comments on how she wouldn't have guessed they were snack-making professionals, then she asks why they bother to begin with. Theo expresses how much fun he thinks making food is and says that by doing it together, even the smallest little thing they create can be fun. While Marinette mixes, she begins to think about the past when she would mix tea for her parents. They called her an obedient girl who was very strong and independent.
After being snapped out of her daze, the group move onto the next step, where they add some food coloring to the water and corn starch, put little sticks in the mixture, and get them into the freezer. After they have cooled and solidified, they all each try one lollipop; but for as amazing as they look, they have little taste and an off texture. Marinette is triggered by such results, and she storms back inside to try making new ones, which turn out to be less pretty and are even broken. Marinette wants to make a new batch but Theo stops her to reveal they no longer have the necessary ingredients, then he goes on to say it's been a lot of fun having her there.
Marinette is surprised as Theo explains that watching her work hard like this has made her love these lollipops, even if they might not be ideal. Feeling inspired, Theo pipes on some pink and blue colored cream and uses some chocolate and multi-colored candy stars to transform one of the lollipops into a miniature robot. He wraps it up for Marinette and explains that by decorating the lollipops like this, they will be wonderful. Touched by Theo's genuine kindness, Marinette begins to laugh again while observing the lollipop given to her.
Just then, the group are startled upon discovering that the Flavour Spark from the rest of the lollipops have been stolen. Maquillon complains over the strange taste until she spots the one overflowing with energy, the one Theo made special for Marinette, and prepares to take it. Theo, Jules and Céline quickly come to Marinette's aid refusing to let this happen, and they transform into Snack Warriors Gommeux, Frites and Guimauve. Marinette is surprised as she observes them, and Pekorin yells out, alerting her that she can speak. Guimauve grabs Maquillon by the tongue to spin her around, into a web made by Frites' potato chips. Gommeux uses his juice-bending abilities to hold Maquillon down, but to their alarm she reveals this was only a trick, easily bursting out of captivity.
Gommeux stands despite the pain caused from this, refusing to let Marinette's lollipop be taken. It was made to make her smile, and it belongs only to Marinette. The latter stares at the lollipop before running to protect Gommeux from Maquillon, who she teasingly claims to be out of her league. Gommeux asks Marinette why she would get involved with something dangerous like this, and Marinette claims to be unsure. Whenever she's around Theo she gets thrown off from the expected, and this bothers her. But it's because of this that she also likes Theo.
Suddenly, the lollipop begins to glow, and it transforms into a pair of Junkies and summons a Sweets Pact, allowing her to transform into Snack Warrior Bonbon. While Gommeux, Frites and Guimauve are shocked by this revelation, Bonbon goads Maquillon into attacking her, and with feline reflexes she effortlessly disorients the monster with the speed of her mech suit and uses the candy bubbles from her pact to daze her. She even rubs beneath her chin to momentarily ease her, then when Maquillon attacks by throwing pieces of ground and rock at her, she uses her giant cat-like fists to slash the air and destroy them. Then, with the cream from her pact she summons two large lollipop halves that close around Maquillon and form a large lollipop, transforming her back into her original form and releasing the Flavour Spark energy that she stole.
As the sun sets, Theo stands outside of her home with Marinette and apologizes to have gotten her mixed up in something like this. She claims not to mind before teasing him, saying that it wasn't fair to have not been involved on something as fun as that was. She heads off after giving Theo one last chin rub, saying that she wants to make perfect and delicious lollipops at home.
Just then, Theo spots the three-star cat and he attempts to pet him but once again ends up in the bushes. Hearing someone unfamiliar laughing nearby, he pulls himself out to find someone (who appears to be another young girl around his age) and observing her whilst carrying a box. She offers Theo a hand while introducing himself as Louis Beaumont, and explains that she just moved in. Theo deeply blushes and begins to smile.
