The Enemy... Is The Popular Transfer Student?! is the twelfth episode of Tri-Ranger's Snack Warriors as well as the 165th episode of the Justice Warriors Series overall.
Synopsis
There is a new transfer student at school who quickly gains everyone's attention, though she seems to take a special interest towards Theo. Is there more to this charming young woman then meets the eye?
Plot
The Sweet Tooth Candy Shop is alive with business, but by now the topic on everyone's mind has been the Snack Warriors, after the legendary heroes had came to their defense at the Sweets Festival. Hearing about how courageous and cool they are encourages Theo to tell them that they are the Snack Warriors, but the others put a stop to it by reminding him that not only would it become a hassle for their business, but it could also put innocent people in harms way.
Meanwhile, the mysterious girl from the festival -Aurélie- overhears a mother and daughter before observing them to take notice of their overflowing Flavour Spark energy. As they discuss Theo being one of the staff members at the sweets shop, Aurélie decides to get an up-close look at him.
The following day, Theo is very tired from working so much as of late. But to his surprise, he spots a charming young woman nearby. She is later introduced as Umeko, a transfer student from Japan who will be joining his class, and she quickly gains a swarm of fans around the school; mostly boys. While jealous girls hide around corners and glare. Theo would like to speak to her about earlier, but he isn't given a chance because of how popular she is. By the end of the day, she even manages to win over some female classmates by encouraging and helping them out with their PE.
During lunch, Theo heads to the roof top when he comes across Umeko. He asks her how she already seems to know him, but her cryptic responses -and sudden closeness- leave him confused as she then heads off a moment later.
After school, the bakers are taking a break with some cooling macarons, about to discuss Umeko when a group of familiar looking creatures show up- the Flavour Spark Thieves that they purified back at the festival. They wanted to apologize to the group for what they did, explaining how they used to be like the teens, in that they lived peacefully and all had their own hopes and dreams. Someone would then come to them, saying that by collecting the Flavour Spark they could obtain their dreams. They offered them belts promising to help them, and these caused each of their feelings to overwhelm them, causing them to act like the monsters they had fought.
The bakers feel empathy and invite the group back inside, where they give them the finished macarons. Initially they hesitate but the group, Danny and Pekorin convince them to try a bite. Eating sweets filled with ones whole heart will bring smiles, and the group become very happy whilst doing so.
During recess at school the next day, Theo is attempting to brainstorm some new sweets they can try to make when he overhears some girls discussing something that occurred with a fellow student. He panics and drops his notebook, which Umeko comes by to pick up and return to him. She seems to know more than Theo believes he mentioned but the latter becomes distracted when one of his friends suggests that they add cupcakes to the shop. Theo likes this idea and invites him to join him at Sweet Tooth so that he can be the first to try them out, and he invites Umeko as well.
Heading over to the shop the group are surprised upon seeing Umeko -with Jules and Céline embarrassing themselves- and they head inside, where Theo brings up the cupcake idea. He shows Umeko and TBA the various spots around the shop and brings them into the kitchen, as they prepare to get started on cooking. TBA decides to sit out because he's quite clumsy, while Umeko claims that she is not that good at making sweets. Theo notices that Umeko seems sad but the latter reminds him of TBA having cram school later, so he quickly gets to work. Theo prepares the batter and fluffy pink whip cream, but as he struggles to get it just right, Umeko offers him some tips, which seem to work. They exchange a sudden high-five, greatly confusing her as TBA brings up Umeko's claims of not being good at baking. She manages to remind the group that the cupcakes still need decorating, and after Theo puts on a lot of cream, TBA remarks on how fluffy it looks. This inspires Theo and he makes the cupcake resemble a sheep.
Umeko admires the Flavour Spark within the cupcake and compliments Theo. She leaves the shop with TBA after Theo packs up some of the cupcakes for him. He complains because whilst he would like to eat it, he doesn't want to spoil his dinner, and he has cram school to get to now, but Umeko manages to persuade him to give into the adorable sweet and they sit down. But as he takes a bit, she observes the glowing Flavour Spark within him and pulls out her wand to steal it all away. TBA screams before losing consciousness, alerting Theo back at Sweet Tooth that something is wrong as he runs out of the shop in a hurry.
Umeko remarks that because of allowing the Flavour Spark to grow throughout the day there has been an increase in the amount, not only that but it's much stronger, and Theo seems capable of making somee very special sweets, which means there will be a lot of it to collect down the line. She then pulls out a gold mask with red eyes and places it on her face as she transforms back into Aurélie, just as the bakers arrive to find her wielding the Flavour Spark.
The legendary heroes waste no time transforming into the Snack Warriors before Snack Warrior Gommeux rushes to TBA's side to make sure he's alright as Aurélie uses her spell: Noir Decoration, which turns the Flavour Spark black before then molding the energy into a large scythe via the essence of the Charming Caramel Junkie.
She rushes forward before Gommeux returns with his own gummy Flavour Spark. Gommeux then takes notice of the star on the scythe, recalling the belt worn by the Flavour Spark Thieves. The woman goes on to introduce herself as Aurélie and she resumes fighting, effortlessly keeping up with the group as they each try to attack; the darkness from her proving to be much stronger than their past battles. Despite numerous attacks, Gommeux keeps running back to her to fight, demanding a reason for why she would do horrible things to others. Aurélie plainly explains how she is conducting an experiment to learn everything she can about the Flavour Spark.
To her shock, Theo manages to break through her darkness just then and he angrily chews her out for thinking that it is okay to use sweets, a warm and gentle thing, for this evil cause. His words enrage Aurélie, as she dismissively tells him that sweets are nothing of the sort, the dark Flavour Spark within her cause the scythe to grow even larger and she sends out a blast of darkness. Just as it's about to hit Theo, he suddenly recalls Umeko's words from earlier and begins to spin around his Candy Mixer to make the gummy Flavour Spark lighter, which fills up his wand as Aurélie takes notice of the technique.
Theo then goes on to cast Gommeux Decoration to break through the darkness, and with each Snack Warrior wielding their wand they cast Candy Heart Attack which purifies Aurélie's scythe and turns it back to its regular wand-like form.
The area returns to normal and the stolen Flavour Spark rains down as TBA awakens. The group return to normal to check on him as Aurélie leaves, with TBA being unable to recall what had happened to him. The bakers express concern over someone who has the ability to manipulate Flavour Spark in such a maniacal way. The following morning, Umeko is observing the area as she thinks about Theo using that technique again. As Umeko spots him, she heads down to the school entrance to meet her rival. Theo then happily greets her and she returns the sentiment.
