The Dangerous Fast Approach! Marinette and Aurélie! is the sixteenth episode of Tri-Ranger's Snack Warriors as well as the 169th episode of the Justice Warriors Series overall.

Synopsis

As she gets to know Umeko and casts suspicion, Marinette feels perturbed by her lack of having a specialty to call her own. But with some help from Theo, she begins to realize that there is something beautiful that only she can bring after all.

Plot

After spending hours putting up the shop's Christmas decorations, the bakers are stumped as to why Aurélie only attacks people that they associate with or know. They have no idea what she could want, but they theorize that because of who she's been choosing as her victims, Marinette is the only person he's yet to personally strike.

The following day, Marinette is leaving for school when her grandmother stops her to bring up their upcoming tea time on Sunday. Marinette's mind becomes so engrossed with this and other thoughts that she's too preoccupied to focus on work afterwards, which is very busy. Despite seemingly not paying attention she steps in to help Louis serve before disappearing; the group taking notice once things calm down again. Theo worries that he's to blame since he messed up so much.

As the sun sets, Marinette walks along while thinking about a past event. Her grandmother laid out various sweets and told her to take whichever one she liked. Just then, Louis joins her to ask if she's alright, wondering if something happened earlier. Marinette remains quiet until Aurélie (disguised as Umeko) suddenly appears to ask if her problem is that everyone has their own special attribute at Sweet Tooth that they enjoy, while she does not. She introduces herself to them after realizing she hasn't done so yet, and points out how each one of them does something special, while Marinette does not.

Louis quickly comes to her defense but Marinette tells Aurélie not to bother. She suggests that Marinette confide in her if she would like, and she agrees, on the condition that it's a secret. Marinette asks how she seems to know so much about them, but Aurélie simply states that she's become a fan of the shop.

Theo calls out to them and becomes nervous as he asks Marinette about hanging out on Sunday. Marinette is intrigued, and knowing that with Theo there it will probably be interesting, so she invites everyone to come over to her grandmothers Tea House. As they walk through the grounds, Jules remarks with surprise that Marinette even included Aurélie, and he mentions having been wanting to get to know her. With everyone dressed up they sit down for tea as Marinette Sr. explains the importance of repetitive gestures when serving tea in order to turn it into a form, as well as assure Theo that his etiquette slip with the sweets isn't a big deal, because the most important part of a tea ceremony is to enjoy it.

Marinette has finished with the tea, and she hands it to Aurélie, who amazes the group with her proper etiquette and the fact that she somehow knows how to make and serve tea. Marinette seems concerned but she says nothing other than thanking her, then when Theo prepares to grab the teapot to serve himself, his legs suddenly become numb from sitting down for so long and he falls over. Marinette Sr. laughs and mentions that she had an idea that the group would be amusing as bakers who work together in the sweets shop. Like his dad would usually do, Theo declares it to be an accident though he feels embarrassed. But nobody really minds!

Marinette steps outside with some flowers when Aurélie returns, claiming to understand how she feels. She can do anything she wants, but she lacks a special skill to truly call her own, and this takes the enjoyment out of everything. Marinette comments that she may understand, and she brings up her older brother. Because of him being the heir to their family, she's always been allowed to do as she pleases. By now this only serves to bring her pain, and she's been left behind. Aurélie seems to feel empathy, and she assures her that she can speak to her whenever she would like.

A bit later, Marinette is preparing for their next guest when Theo stops by, to thank her for use of the tuxedo (even if he had ruined it after his little slip). He's surprised to see her making scones and notes how different the tea room looks. Marinette explains how even the tiniest of details can change how one enjoys themselves, so it's important to pay attention to details like this. At least, her grandmother would say this. Theo begins to smile and he comments on how he enjoys watching Marinette serve, because she treats them with care and it looks so pretty. He then says that tea and sweets are friends, words that genuinely touch Marinette. Just then, Theo gets an idea, but before he can say anything he bumps his head on the overhead passage of the room.

He suggests they bring this hospitality to Sweet Tooth and takes Marinette there later to reveal the "Dee-sea Tea House" they set up for her. It's a special collaboration, and they prepared white whale strawberry scones for the occasion. He's also made several other variants with other fruits, each one based on each of them. The group each try their unique sweet, Céline's using apricot, while Jules guesses that they used a blue gummy in his, since they couldn't get an actual blue fruit. The bakers love this concept and they think everyone else will too, which is why Theo went ahead and made invitations for everyone.

The shop becomes alive with guests, and everyone loves what the group has done. Marinette seems to be in higher spirits as well, after Theo responds by saying that only she could bring in this pretty hospitality. Marinette thanks Theo and notes that perhaps she truly does enjoy tea ceremonies after all. It's then Theo realizes that Aurélie never showed up.

Outside, the male members of Marinette's fanclub are making their way home when they find themselves confronted by Aurélie. She pulls out her wand to steal away their Flavour Spark.

At Sweet Tooth, Louis locates a handkerchief one of the boys left behind. He decides to return it but Marinette feels so much better that she decides to do it instead. The group are surprised, but Theo suggests they wait for her to return so that they can try to make more unique scones. Marinette is caught off-guard after locating Aurélie surrounded by her unconscious fanclub and she wastes no time transforming into Snack Warrior Bonbon after she teases her. Using Noir Decoration, Aurélie transforms her weapon into a double-sided object with spheres of shadow on each side.

As this is going on, the bakers begin worrying over Marinette as it's been a while since she left the shop.

Aurélie quickly manages to turn the tide and binds Bonbon's hands, hanging her over a building while complaining that she didn't put in much effort. Bonbon says nothing as Aurélie goes on to remark that her friends won't be coming for someone so fickle, who does whatever she pleases. Marinette becomes sad when Aurélie brings up that only her brother is cared about, while she was forced to endure feelings of loneliness. However, she is thrown off-guard when Marinette effortlessly empowers herself to rejoin her, revealing that she actually doesn't have a brother, she lied to Aurélie in order to confirm her suspicions. She admits that while she does feel pain from her lifestyle at times, she blames nobody else for the path that she chose to walk, nor would she allow darkness to control her.

She also points out that imitation will only let one get so far, without spirit it doesn't mean anything. Bonbon then goes on to cast Bonbon Julienne by imitating Aurélie's own move, with enough alteration to surprise her as the others arrive and use Candy Heart Attack.

Marinette presents the whale scones and tea to her grandmother. She asks how the tea is and begins to laugh after she makes a comment, explaining that by needing to improve she can still enjoy herself while preparing it. Marinette Sr. understands, and she goes on to remark on the tea Aurélie made, Marinette already well aware of what she was going to say.
