"Time for Me to Start this Party (私がこのパーティーを始める時間 Watashi ga kono pātī o hajimeru jikan?)"
―Format's catchphrase[src]

Takumi Naito is a 30-year-old musician (33 in The Song of Format) from his band: The Purging Principle, where he is the lead vocalist. While on tour, he becomes Kamen Rider Format after seeing Malware interrupt one of his band's concerts by murdering a couple of fans on stage. Known for his killer pipes, if he's truly focused, he becomes a vocal ally in Haruka's mission to become the Savior of Humanity. During the Convergence, Takumi temporarily became Kamen Rider Double, from Lillian's Memorial Book in an effort to stop Apogaleve. He greatly resembles Takeshi Gotokouji

After Malware's purification, and Haruka's peaceful death, Takumi later became a Gold Record music producer, of which he's forced out of retirement to investigate the glass city.

Biography[]

Early Life[]

Takumi had the talent as being the musician, and he definitely showed. Granted, the reason why he truly focuses on singing is that he felt singing relieves stress and tension.

Seeing Kamen Rider Memory in the Flesh[]

Because of the Atalanta Mall incident, Takumi was one of the three people (Masato and Yusaku) that watched the report of Memory taking down the Grasshopper Denizen.

Den-O Arc[]

Meeting Haruka and Masato[]

While he was signing autographs, he came across the two (Haruka and Masato) fighting over the amount of Karrage Chicken

Since he refused his offer, Malware proceeds to disrupt the live performance by turning Keiji Nishihori, a former member of the Purging Principle, into the Den-O denizen (The Replacement).

Build[]

Personality[]

A soft-spoken and quiet young man that has killer vocals when he focuses on singing. While mainly soft-spoken, the reason why he's surprisingly quiet is that he has a communication disorder that prevents him from talking for a long duration, only resulting in quiet whispers when he ends a conversation.

Granted, because of his shyness, Takumi doesn't react when being confronted by Malware about the negative consequences of being a Rockstar. It wasn't until he gets to experience first-hand of Malware's attacks that he decides to fight, knowing that if Malware has to be stopped, then he has to overcome his insecurities.

However, aside from this, Takumi doesn't hesitate to speak what he has in his mind, especially when he calls Lillian out for her murder of Gai Amatsu, which not only terrified Haruka in the process but had the other surprised he has some bravado hidden in his quiet demeanour. Aside from his patience, Takumi is normally quiet for a guy who sings

In an ironic case, he would eventually get used to how fun being a Kamen Rider truly is through his catch-phrases described below.

Legend Rider Catchphrases[]

Like Haruka, Takumi has some of his own

  • Emu Hojo: I swear I'll clear this...without any (A variation of Emu's catch-phrase)

  • Format's suit is redesigned, and modified from Kamen Rider Live and Wizard with a couple of differences: The Falcon design was marked around the main body
  • At the age of 30, he is the oldest member of the Mystics by far.
  • Despite being the Secondary Rider, Takumi actually debuts a bit later than what episode he was planned to appear.
  • Takumi is the first Secondary Rider:
    • since Rintaro Shindo to be an ally of the main hero from the start, similar to Iori Izumi and Akira Date. Unlike Rintaro, however, Takumi has never left Haruka's side through the entire series. (Note: Rintaro temporarily left Touma due to a misunderstanding in regards to who the traitor was)
  • Takumi's henshin is similar to Garren with a hint of both Double and Beast, due to him using the same hand to swipe the screen in order to activate the card.
