Spring! The Forest! Sweet Tooth's Camping Story! is the twenty-sixth episode of Tri-Ranger's Snack Warriors as well as the 179th episode of the Justice Warriors Series overall.
Synopsis
When the Snack Warriors become stranded on a deserted island, Keinosuke tries to find ingredients to make some new sweets and sort out everyone's hunger. He would then come across the lonely Édouard and attempts to make him feel better about his sudden predicament.
Plot
The episode begins with the heroes feeling dehydrated on the bus while waiting for their arrival to the camp site, except for Keinosuke, who is too excited. Once they have arrived, Theo sets up the shop so that it can float on the lake and the group change clothing before they go out to play. Céline and Keinosuke float on an inflatable banana, Theo and Jules swing on a tire, Louis counts bugs by the trees, and Marinette reads a book whilst petting Pekorin. However, Theo's idea to make a big float ring for the shop proves to be a bad idea as when everyone returns to shop later and is worn out from everything they've done, they fail to notice that the Sweet Tooth has begun floating away towards a nearby swamp.
The group would then wake up and discover that they are stranded in an deserted part of the forest. After Theo realizes his float ring has a big hole in it, he gets an idea and suggests that Keinosuke could transform into Snack Warrior Gâteau to fix it, but Keinosuke's stomach growls and he transforms back into Pikario. Theo then becomes distressed as Pekorin agrees that he too is hungry, and they don't have anymore Flavour Spark to fix things. Danny suggests that they can get more by baking some sweets, but without any ingredients to properly make anything, Pikario tells everyone they might be able to find some by heading out into nature.
In the vast jungles in the forest, the teens begin searching for edible ingredients. But while Theo, Jules, and Céline get startled by a vine they mistook for a snake, Pikario goes up ahead to find fresh looking footprints. Theo and Danny would run up ahead suggesting they track down the owner -which ends in them both running face first into a cliff- and Pikario floats to the top for a better look, but to his surprise he finds Édouard. Édouard angrily attempts to summon Flavour Spark to use to fight him but when nothing happens, he collapses in grief. He was too frightened to face Mademoiselle Obscurité for having lost yet again, so he came here thinking a trip would ease his worries, but then his boat floated away so he's been stranded. He begins to cry at the thought of being left alone again, only to snap at Pikario and run away.
Theo manages to get atop the mountain and he asks Pikario how things went, but before he can bring up his encounter with Édouard, Theo reveals that they managed to find a cave. He takes Pikario inside and they find the others admiring the shiny, large icicles that have formed from water drips over time. Céline goes on to say that the impurities are left out due to the positioning and constant dripping, which inspires Theo to suggest they use it to make shaved ice. Pikario is very confused as he's never heard of that before.
With as much ice that they can carry, the teens return to the Sweet Tooth to saw it into chunks and shave it down into bowls. They also prepare a few other items they have and Theo transforms it into a walrus using some candies and brown syrup. Pikario takes a bite and transforms back into Keinosuke while complimenting how amazing it tastes. But he begins to feel sad as he recalls how lonely Édouard was earlier and how happy he is to have his friends, leading him to confess what happened. The others are surprised when he asks if they can make some shaved ice for him as well, and they remind him of Édouard's past misdeeds, but Keinosuke explains how he felt to see him in so much pain, and how he wants to help him feel better. Danny agrees that if they feel so strongly about this idea, he sees no reason not to go through with it. Keinosuke thanks everyone and they get to work.
As the sun begins setting, Édouard cries while thinking about when he was younger. He was very lonely and Obscurité sought him out, granting him strength with darkness that transformed into his beloved Iru. He promised to love him and left, which made him sad until realizing Iru could speak. He became less lonely; but now Iru is so torn up and powerless, so he won't speak anymore. He pleads for him to talk again when Keinosuke shows up to offer him the shaved ice. Édouard refuses as Keinosuke tries to assure him that they put a lot of effort into making it for him, which causes him further envy and grief. His tears leak onto Iru, granting him strength to come back to life after sucking the Flavour Spark from the sweet. He's very happy to see Iru back to normal, and he transforms into a large ice monster- but something goes wrong as he becomes confused and attacks Édouard instead.
He stands in alarm as Iru shoots out a large shard of ice in his direction, but Keinosuke grabs onto him to push him out of the way to avoid injury. The others arrive in Warrior form, allowing Keinosuke to use this chance to become Snack Warrior Gâteau, and he begins attacking Iru. Édouard is stunned they're suddenly protecting him, but he begins to cry and desperately pleads for it to end; with even Iru against him, he's never had anyone to stand by his side. He always becomes lonely regardless of what he does. Gâteau feels empathy for Édouard, nearly causing him to get hurt but the others come to his rescue in time and Iru goes on to shoot out jagged ice projectiles. Gâteau quickly comes to Édouard's aid but a nearby blast causes Gâteau to release Édouard, sending him plummeting over the cliff. He catches Édouard while saying how much he would like to eat the shaved ice they made for him together, words that touch Édouard deeply as he goes on to encourage him not to give up.
Just then, Gâteau's crystal sphere begins to glow, and it transforms into a pegasus statue which turns his suits cape into a pair of wings. A glittery sphere then appears around the duo and using his newfound powers of flight, Gâteau helps Édouard float back to the top of the cliff. He uses his purifying attack on Iru, returning the stolen Flavour Spark and giving him back to Édouard. He sadly picks him up while wondering what happened to him and Keinsouke returns with the shaved ice, offering it to him again. Édouard slowly takes it, but rather then eat the sweet, he feeds the Flavour Spark to Iru again and scolds Keinosuke for being so stupid. He turns away and Iru grows in size to fly him away from the jungle, saying nothing other then to express remorse as Keinosuke sadly watches him leave. He then recalls his changed sphere and takes it out from his pocket.
The teens would then return to the shop and with the nearly full Flavour Spark machine they're able to return to the camping site to enjoy their shaved ice. Theo notices that Keinosuke seems to be sad and he explains how he was unable to help Édouard the way he wanted to, but he plans on trying again. Theo expresses support and they look out to admire the view from their Flavour Spark powered hot-air balloon.
