Oliver "Ollie" William Herring is the main protagonist of Kamen Rider Chomper. He is a college junior who transforms into Kamen Rider Chomper.
History[]
Background[]
Oliver was born to Brian and Lucy Herring on December 15th, 2005 and gained a sister three years later in Rebecca. At some point in his childhood, Oliver became friends with Tiana Richards and would help out with Herring Confections more following his father's death. After graduating high school, Oliver began attending Rising Stars University and would become merged with a strange device after finding it during his sophomore year. His sister would become the only person to know of this event as Oliver began his junior year.
Becoming Chomper[]
One week into his junior year of college, Oliver finds himself still dealing with the device being merged with his body. He decides to keep hiding its existence from Tiana and Nathan as well as other students at RSU. Visiting Herring Confections after class, Oliver arrives just in time to see Charlie Thompson attempting to buy candy from his mother and decides to pay for the snacks himself as a gift. After his sister returned home, Oliver suddenly found himself overcome by an urge to intake as much sugar as possible. After his mother leaves, Oliver gives in to his urges and eats multiple packs of gummies and lollipops. Unusually, doing this creates creatures from the device that Rebecca names "Monsnacks".
Sticking the Monsnacks into his bag, Oliver meets up with Tiana and Nathan, but the group's time together is cut short by a canine monster. While Oliver orders his friends and others to escape, he refuses to do so himself when he notices Charlie being the target of the monster. Fighting it in a failing effort, the Monsnacks appear and non-verbally inform Oliver to use them in the device merged with his body. Doing so, Oliver is transformed into a suit of purple and black armor and begins fighting the canine monster. Gaining the upper hand, Oliver is able to defeat the monster using the Kickin Gummy Monsnack. Finding Charlie afterwards, he convinces the boy not to reveal his secret as the two leave the area. The following day, Oliver informs Rebecca of the fight as Tiana runs in and expresses her eagerness to one day meet the hero, much to Oliver's amusement. First Bite! Rise of Chomper!
Still testing his abilites out a week later, Oliver is approached by Tiana about helping her friend Haley move into her new apartment. It is during this time that the Consume Driver would create the Zakuzaku Chips Monsnack, which would catch Haley being turned into a Terrack and inform Oliver. Saving the young lady from the Poda Vicross, Oliver would drive away before his identy was figured out by Haley. Samurai Chip Master Oliver would later go on to protect Jason Galloway from the Spike Vicross using the newly created Punchin Gummy Monsnack. Big Time Puncher
Some time after his fight with Spike, Oliver would prevent some of his fellow RSU students from messing with a farm owned by Greg and Vivian Jericho. Deciding to help the elderly couple with their work after school one day, Oliver would meet a strange man named Heran who claimed to have created the Consume Driver. Initially in disbelief, Oliver was eventually convinced of Heran's honesty once a pair of Disastris attacked them. Meeting Selja and Acier Cenoc, Oliver would be made aware of the plan of Cenocorp to use humans as spices for their Sugrosar production. Using Marshmallow Snack Armor for the first time, Oliver would defeat the Disastris as the Cenoc siblings escaped. Realizing that Heran would be important to fighting this threat, Oliver would convince his family to let Heran stay in their home under the named of Herman Millar. Fluffy Fighter Upon Heran becoming Gobiter, Oliver's commitment to being Chomper was shaken. After defeating the Sadino Vicross alongside Heran, Oliver's confidence would be restored. Identity Revealed and Caking[]
Still hiding his identity from Tiana, Oliver would help his friend when she discovered that Brenda Collins was being scammed. Initially believing that the scam wasn't too nefarious, Oliver would discover that the person behind the scam was a Vicross. He would also meet Siden Cenoc for the first time, fighting the Cenocorp president's Disastris alongside Gatoron. President Arrival Oliver would then be forced to let Gatoron escape when Heran's life was put in danger, causing a brief issue to spawn between them. When Tiana went to put an end to Gatoron's scams herself, Oliver and Heran would save her, revealing their identities to her in the process. While still keeping Heran's alien origins from her, Oliver managed to convince Tiana not to reveal his secret to anyone else. Rounded Justice
The day before his birthday, Oliver would be lured into another fight with Selja and Acier, the two blaming him for their firing. Despite his best efforts, Oliver would be soundly defeated by the siblings and was left heavily injured. Birthday Attack The following day, Oliver would eat the strawberry cake that Heran had made for him in celebration of his birthday before being once again called out by the Cenoc siblings. Initially finding himself outmatched once again, the Consume Driver would create a new Monsnack based on the strawberry cake, allowing Oliver to access Caking Snack Armor. Using his new powers and the help of the Whipastries, Oliver would defeat the siblings, killing Selja in the process. Wish of Power
Days later, Oliver would becoming convinced that the Brachy Vicross wanted to leave Cenocorp despite Heran's warnings. Being betrayed, Oliver would fight Brachy and Acier's Disastris before learning that Heran had been kidnapped. Personality[]
Oliver is a young man blessed with a strong sense of responsibility who wants nothing more than to protect and provide for others. Following his father's death and becoming Chomper, Oliver's sense of responsibility and justice rose to new heights as he began trying to handle every issue he came across without complaint. This also causes him to lose sight of his own well-being at times.
While usually calm in most cases, Oliver can easily become enraged at Vicross seeing humans as simply food or a prize. When the Tentacle Vicross stated that he was willing to share his reward with him, Oliver would go on to wildly attack the alien without mercy before being forced into a defensive position. After the Cenoc Siblings gave him the full run down of their goals, Oliver's anger reared its head yet again, which also raised his determination to protect others at all costs. His determination would temporarily waiver after Heran became Gobiter, but would have his confidence restored after realizing that Heran being a rider didn't make him any less.
Oliver is also very helpful and charitable towards both humans and aliens, choosing to help the Jerichos and Heran without any reward in mind, even gifting Heran a home on Earth. As shown with the Brachy Vicross, his kindness can even extend to the Vicross, wanting to believe that a Vicross wanting to change for the better was truly possible despite Heran's reservations.

- Consume Driver Fusion: Due to merging with the Consume Driver, Oliver now has abilities beyond that of a normal human.
- Monsnack Creation: When he eats snacks Oliver is able to produce Monsnacks from the Consume Driver. He can accumulate a large number of them in a short period of time, and the Monsnack produced depends on the type and flavor of the snacks he consumes. As shown with the Caking Monsnack, some Monsnacks take longer to be developed for reasons that are currently unknown.
- Enhanced Healing: Being merged to the Consume Driver allows Oliver to heal quicker from injuries. He is able to heal from serious injuries in the span of a day with the help of a single bag of snacks.

- Skilled Fighter: During his fights as Chomper, Oliver has shown a high aptitude for battle and can quickly learn how to use his form's abilities on the fly. This makes Oliver a dangerous person to fight despite his limited experience.
Weaknesses[]
- High Metabolism Burn: While fighting as Chomper, Oliver's body expends large amounts of energy due to the armor being a part of his body. To counteract this, Oliver needs to consume various amounts of sugar to regain energy. This weakness is greatly accelerated when Oliver uses the Caking Monsnack.
- Monsnack Depletion: While most Monsnacks are made in spades whenever he eats a snack, Oliver must be careful when fighting since all Monsnacks aside from Caking are fully consumed after being used. If he was to run out of Monsnacks to use, Oliver would be unable to fight as Chomper.
- Extreme Heat: As shown during his third encounter with Selja and Acier, forms that are made of materials that can easily melt or burn, such as Chocolate Snack Armor and Marshmallow Snack Armor, are easily destroyed when blasted with high levels of heat. This can be countered by using a form that cannot melt or burn easily, such as Lollipop Snack Armor.

Gummy Snack Armor possesses balanced stats. This form greatly minimizes the damage the user would've taken by purging the gummy-like armors on his body. To compensate this, Chomper can use more Poppin Gummy Monsnacks to replenish his armor when needed.
Gummy Snack Armor consists of the following parts:
- Gummy Snackhelm: The head.
- Gummy Face Cover: The face. The biological tissue generated by using the Poppin Gummy Monsnack is highly transparent and has strong viscoelasticity, and can repel any impact. - Gummy Sighter: The eyes. They are highly transparent, allowing for extremely high light absorption efficiency, and have a wide viewing angle of over 200 degrees.

- Consuit: The body. The transformer's body boasts outstanding physical abilities, and by adding the characteristics of his kin, Chomper can transform and change in various ways, exhibiting a variety of abilities.

The addition of the Gummy Puncher increases Chomper's punching power to equal his kicking power, but its weight decreases his running speed to a lesser degree than Gummy Kick Flavor. Chomper can also use it as a shield in order to close the distance to the enemy.

- Consuit: The body. The transformer's body boasts outstanding physical abilities, and by adding the characteristics of his kin, Chomper can transform and change in various ways, exhibiting a variety of abilities.

Spicy Chip Flavor is a spicy potato chips-based enhancement of Chip Snack Armor accessed by using a Hirihiri Chips Monsnack in the Consume Driver. The Chip Strikers' blades are engulfed in flames and it unleashes enhanced slash attacks with intense heat.
This has the side effect of burning the Chip Strikers' blades after some time of use or after a finisher, thus heavily limiting the usage of the broken pieces, which at most can be used to propagate the fire. Fortunately, the blades can be regenerated by expending more Hirihi Chips Monsnacks in the Consume Driver.

However, Chomper's mitten-like hands make it difficult to hold onto the Chomper Saber and he needs to wield it double-handed. The biological tissue may melt off with too much heat and Chomper must replenish his armor with more Fuwamallow Monsnacks.

Marshmallow Plump Flavor allows Chomper to change the shape of his body by expanding the biological tissue of his chest, but his agility decreases as his body is covered in marshmallows.
Marshmallow Plump Flavor adds on the following part:
- Marshmallow Inflator: The chest. Kamen Rider Chomper Marshmallow Snack Armor's use of the kin the Marumallow Monsnack enables rapid growth and expansion of biological tissues. It can also become even larger and cylindrical in shape, taking on special forms.
- Marshmallow Snack Leg: The legs. The transformation has given it superior shock-absorbing capabilities, so that even a landing from a height will not cause damage. It is also possible to walk on water due to changes in the specific gravity inside the bubbles.

- Marumallow Rolling: Chomper enlarges the size of his Marshmallow Inflator until his whole body (minus his head) is covered with a giant roller-like cylinder made of marshmallow. Chomper then dashes forward, demolishing any enemy on his way, before he purges the cylinder from his body and leaps forward, leaving those trapped in the roller to eventually explode and die.

In this form, Chomper is equipped with the Milk Choco Gunner, allowing Chomper to use long range attacks on his enemies with its tempered bullets. The biological tissue may melt off with too much heat and Chomper must replenish his armor with more Chocodan Monsnacks.

- Chocodan Final Bite: Chomper runs toward the enemy, jumps in the air above them, and spins rapidly, releasing a flood of chocolate to create a chocolate fondue fountain. He separates from the fountain and shoots at it with the Milk Choco Gunner to solidify the wall into a chocolate bar dome that destroys the enemy from the inside, exploding into pieces of chocolate. He can also use a variant against an enemy that is in front of him by jumping up and spinning to form a cylinder of chocolate instead of a dome.
White Chocolate Flavor

White Chocolate Flavor is a white chocolate-based enhancement of Chocolate Snack Armor accessed by using a Chocodon Monsnack in the Consume Driver. Chomper gains the White Choco Gunner in addition to the Milk Choco Gunner. Additional Chocodon Monsnacks grant more copies of the White Choco Gunner for himself to use or give to Gobiter.

Lollipop Snack Armor is Chomper's spiral lollipop-based form accessed by using a Gurucan Monsnack in the Consume Driver.
Lollipop Snack Armor provides Chomper with greater punching and kicking power than Gummy Snack Armor, although not as high as its Flavors. However, it is the slowest form and greatly limits the height of his jump because of his large body structure and weight. Unlike Chomper's other base forms, this form has greater resistance to heat-based attacks. When it attacks hand-to-hand, a large amount of candy is scattered from where the attack lands.
This form has the unique ability to transform the Quad Popper into the Rapid Popper, which serves as its primary weapon. While powerful, it risks overheating after firing, requiring Monsnacks to blow on it in order to cool it down. If Chomper transforms into Lollipop Snack Armor with the Quad Popper already summoned, it will automatically come to him and transform into the Rapid Popper without the need to use another Monsnack.

The addition of the Lollipop Cannons decreases Chomper's jump height and running speed. They fire candy-shaped projectiles that shuck their wrappings before hitting their target.
Lollipop Blast Flavor adds on the following part:
- Lollipop Cannon: The twin cannons. They appear when a Bakucan Monsnack is used and fire cylindrical hard bullets that boast great destructive power. These can also unleash the special attack Bakucan Burst.
- Lollipop Snack Leg: The legs. They have a robust joint structure to support Lollipop Snack Armor's large body, and can deliver big kicks that make the most of their weight and hardness. When unleashing the special attack “Bakucan Burst”, two cannon muzzles each are released on the left and right legs.

Yule Snack Armor also grants Chomper the ability to generate yule logs, either using them as obstacles against opponents or for defensive purposes like Marshmallow and Lollipop Snack Armors.

This form grants Chomper a massive increase in kicking power and a boost in punching power, at the cost of his jump height and running speed. His physical abilities such as agility and fighting prowess are improved by using up the massive amounts of energy contained in his body. In this form, Chomper is equipped with the Caking Whipada, and can also summon Whipastries to assist him in battle. The immense consumption of Oliver's energy leaves him exhausted and hungry.
Caking Snack Armor consists of the following parts:

By spinning the Blizzard Sorbei Monsnack and licking the ice cream biological tissue, Chomper can breath ice to create slopes and cover objects in ice.
Chomper continues to wield the Caking Whipada, and can also summon Sorbet Whipastries to assist him in battle.
Sobret Snack Armor consists of the following parts:

- Sorbetail: The cooling organ. Its special structure serves to cool the entire body by blocking outside heat and at the same time releasing heat inside the body efficiently.
- Sorbet Snack Arm: The arms. The transformation has resulted in ultra-low temperatures, and it can absorb the heat of things it touches and freeze them. With even greater rapid-fire speed, it can instantly shatter frozen targets.
- Sorbet Snack Leg: The legs. The transformation has put it in a superconductive state, allowing it to perform impressive maneuvers such as gliding and spinning using magnetic fields. They can also expand their range of movement by freezing the surface of water and etc.
Chomper performs attacks by spinning the Blizzard Sorbei Monsnack and licking the biological tissue on the back of his hands.
- Cooling: Chomper licks the ice cream on the Sorbet Snack Arm and blows a gust of cool air that solidifies into ice. He can also use this move to cover the Chomper Saber in ice.
- Frosting: Chomper blows out a heap of solid ice.
- Freezing: Chomper summons six Snack Rushers, each ridden by a Monsnack. He launches a single Snack Rusher at the opponent using the Chomper Saber, and the other five Snack Rushers follow, shattering the ice platform and causing the opponent to collapse.

- Blizzard Sorbet Snowstorm: Chomper spins the Blizzard Sorbei Monsnack thrice before pushing the Transgurger. Chomper screams, triggering the ice cream cones to stab the opponent, and simultaneously freezing and shattering them along with the glacial surroundings.

- Heran Milan/Kamen Rider Gobiter: Oliver's newest friend and fellow Kamen Rider. Meeting Heran while assisting the Jerichos, Oliver would quickly give Heran a place to stay at Herring Confections after hearing his story. After Heran became Gobiter, their friendship grew throughout their battles, constantly covering for each other when they need to head off to battle. Despite their closeness, Oliver and Heran still tend to disagree on what to do with the Vicross. Their first issue came up when Oliver chose to save Heran's life over defeating Gatoron. While they would quickly get over this, another issue would come up once Brachy convinced Oliver that he wanted to turn his life around. Heran would refuse to believe this, becoming irritated with him. Just like their first argument, they would get past this and reaffirm their alliance.
- Tiana Richards: Oliver's childhood friend who he attends Rising Stars with. The two have a strong bond that causes them to be around each other often. Oliver initially hid his identity from her despite Tiana actively trying to get an interview with Chomper. He would later be forced to reveal his identity to her during the scams of the Gatoron Vicross. He would later convince her to keep his identity secret. Oliver openly admires Tiana's commitment to looking for the truth and genuinely wanting to help others whenever possible.
- Nathan Ruiz: Oliver's other close friend who he met when he started attending Rising Stars. While he doesn't interact with Nathan as much as he does Tiana, he clearly cares for him.
- Rancle Cenoc: After initially being upset with Rancle's prior occupation at Cenocorp, Oliver would grow to see Rancle as a genuine ally despite Heran's urging not to become too attached to the former Cenocorp executive. Oliver has a habit of going to Rancle often when considering how to handle the human-hunting Vicross. While not necessarily close to Rancle, Oliver has clearly become fond of the elderly Vicross.
