Justice Warriors: Battle Arena is an American fighting and party game developed and published by Bandai Namco Entertainment and Lancarse. It is the first overall installment of the Battle Arena series of games.
The game was released worldwide on December 10, 2026 for Nintendo Switch 2, PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S whilst the Microsoft Windows version released just over two months later on February 12, 2027. Players who pre-ordered the "Set for Action Edition", however, received five days of early access and were able to play the game from December 5, 2026 and February 7, 2027 respectively.
The game features nearly every main and debatable Justice Warrior in existence (as well as movie exclusives) as a playable character with Snack Warrior Gommeux serving as the cover star (considering his series was the one currently airing in the at the time of the games release).
Game Modes
Main
Battle Arena
The main assest of Battle Arena's core gameplay is the titular "Battle Arena" itself. The game is essentially a 3D arena fighter in a similar vein to that of Kamen Rider: Climax Fighters (and it's sequel Climax Scramble Zi-O) thus the controls for the Nintendo Switch 2 and PS5 versions of the game are the same as the ones they used for those games when they originally launched on PS4 and the original Switch respectively. The Xbox version feature similar controls to the PS5 version with each button being mapped to it's equivalent (I.E. the "A" button on Xbox would have the same functions as the "X" button on PS5).
Matches in the Battle Arena consist of three or five 180 second rounds (depending on your settings) and the first player to win two or three rounds is considered the overall winner of the match. Players win a round once they drop their opponents HP to zero or they have more HP than their opponent when time runs out. There are four different match types for players to choose from, these include:
Regular matches
These matches feature the standard ruleset and can be played in the following formats:
- Solo (1v1)
- Handicap (2v1, 3v1 or 3v2)
- Duos (2v2)
- Trios (3v3)
- Squads (4v4 or 5v5)
Deathmatch
Same as regular matches but the battlefield is covered with invisible landmines and exploding forcefields that will damage players when they are touched.
House Rules
Same as regular matches but each bout will contain a unique twist that's chosen randomly by the game before the match begins (I.E. anti-gravity battlefield, "Big Head" mode or slowed down characters)
Tournament
Compete in a series of tough matches and aim to be the last Justice Warrior or team standing (this mode can only be played in Solo, Duos or Trios).
Party Plaza
In the games main multiplayer hub world, the player can face off against the CPU, their friends and up to 99 other people from around the world in a variety of fast paced and exciting minigames. These include:
Quiz Kingdom
Played with either up to three CPU or three other people via local and online multiplayer, this game mode features players answering various types of Justice Warriors related trivia questions in order to earn points. After each round, the players can choose wether or not to gamble the points that they've earnt by spinning a wheel which contains both positive and negative outcomes. Following the fifth round, the two highest scoring players will move onto the final where they must answer five questions correctly before their opponent to win the game.
Bounce to the Beat
Played with either up to three CPU or three other people via local and online multiplayer, this game mode features players teaming up and performing a randomly chosen song from the ingame jukebox, whilst keeping in time with the rhythm, by jumping on their assigned notes in order to achieve the highest score possible.
Tower Trouble
Played with up to ninety-nine other people via online multiplayer, the player is placed into a team with 49 other people in this special 50v50 mode that you can only find in Party Plaza. The gameplay is similar to that of Battle Arena but rather than protecting their character from being damaged, the player has to instead protect their teams four towers from being destroyed by the opposing team.
JustiBall
Played with either up to seven other people via local multiplayer and up to twenty-nine other people via online multiplayer, this game mode features players being split into two teams and taking part in a rather wacky version of football/soccer that sees them using a giant ball. Players can use special items that will randomly spawn onto the field at any given time in order to change the flow of the ball (and even the match itself on some occasions). The team with the most goals after two five-minute halves is declared the winner. Players cannot be damaged by attacks in this mode.
Jewel Heist
Played with either up to nine CPU, seven other people via local or nine other people via online multiplayer, this game mode features players being split into two teams/roles. The orange team (referred to as "Guardians")'s objective is to stop the blue team (referred to as "Thieves") from stealing all of the jewels that have been hidden around the map within a 120 second time limit whilst the objective of the blue team is the opposite. Thieves can be placed in jail after they've been attacked by a Guardian. The Guardians win the game if they manage to capture all of the Thieves whilst the Thieves will win if they reach their target amount. However the game will end in a draw if neither win condition is met after time runs out.
Team Supremacy
This game mode is similar in style to that of Ultimate Team from the FIFA/EA Sports FC series of games. In this online exclusive experience, the player creates a team of up to ten Justice Warriors using cards that they obtain from card packs and play online 5v5 Squads matches.
Playing, and more importantly winning, these matches will grant the player with rewards such as card packs in order to acquire new characters and various support items that can help the user out in tough situations (like potions that can increase their HP when they are running low) or the in-game currency known as Battle Points or BP for short (which players can use to buy card packs as well as individual character cards from the ingame Auction House). Players can also get BP by spending real world money on them in the ingame store via microtransactions.
The following card rarities can be found within Team Supremacy Mode:
- Bronze (Common)
- Bronze (Rare)
- Silver (Common)
- Silver (Rare)
- Gold (Common)
- Gold (Rare)
- Warrior of the Week (WOTW): Awarded to the Justice Warrior who had the best performance in the latest episode of the currently airing TV series.
- Warrior of the Month (WOTM): Awarded to the Justice Warrior who featured in the most teams and had the best performances over the past month of TV episodes, Specials and Movies.
- Warriors of the Year (WOTY): Awarded to the six Justice Warriors who featured in the most teams and had the best performances over the past year of TV episodes, Specials and Movies.
- Wicked Warriors: These cards have similar stats to that of their Gold counterparts but the cards are designed to be based around Halloween with the colors of the card being green and purple as well as featuring a Jack-O-Lantern and two bats in the background. If the player uses one of these cards in a match then the Justice Warrior who is on that card will wear a costume that is either based on a famous monster or a costume that is based on a well-known horror movie/video game character during the match (after the player has obtained these alternate attires, they are also unlocked for use in the Battle Arena and Party Plaza modes once the main storyline in the Be A Hero Mode has been completed)
- Festive Fighters: These cards have similar stats to that of their Gold counterparts but the cards are designed to be based around Christmas with the color of the card being red as well as featuring a snowy background with Christmas lights. If the player uses one of these cards in a match then the Justice Warrior who is on that card will wear either a Santa hat and beard, a reindeer costume or a snowman costume (after the player has obtained these alternate attires, they are also unlocked for use in the Battle Arena and Party Plaza modes once the main storyline in the Be A Hero Mode has been completed)
- Villainous Vultures: These cards feature non-transforming characters from the Justice Warriors Series who are villains in their respective TV series, movie or special. They cannot be obtained via card packs and are only unlocked if the player finishes within the top 500 of the current season's rankings in "Ranked Play" and the characters cannot be unlocked for use in other modes.
Ranked Play
In this part of the Team Supremacy mode, the player has five weeks to guide their team to the top of the ingame table by winning as many matches as possible. Depending on their placement in the table at the end of the current season, they'll be rewarded with either Battle Points, a set of card packs (ranging from 6 to 24) or limited edition cards of certain characters that aren't available in packs such as those featured within the Villainous Vultures rarity.
Be A Hero
The main singleplayer experience of the game (outside of Battle Arena) is Be A Hero (the game's story mode). Here, the player creates a custom Justice Warrior and teams up with their fellow heroes in order to take on an evil alien race from another world, known as the Clomodians, who are planning to enslave all life on Earth so that they can find an ancient artifact that has the power to warp and change reality. The custom character that the player makes can be unlocked for use in the Battle Arena and Party Plaza modes once the main story has been completed.
The player can also unlock additional post-game chapters under the title of Episode Ωmega when they purchase the post-launch DLC that is associated with the characters that you meet or have to help out in that specific chapter of the story.
Create A Warrior
In the game's creation suite, the player can create their own Justice Warrior to use within Battle Arena and Party Plaza (this custom fighter is different from the one that is used within the Be A Hero mode). They can customize their stats, gender, suit, body type and name to their liking using various parts so they can make their dream hero.
Rate My Warrior
Here, the player can choose to upload their custom character to the games community hub so that other players can download and rate their creations. The player can also download other players custom Warriors so that they can use them in their own game.
Extras
Practice
In this mode, the player can try out and get used to the games control scheme in several quick-paced missions before they jump right into their first match.
Options
Here, the player can change certain aspects of the game to make it perfect for their own personal experience. These include changing the settings/difficulty for matches, lowering or increasing the volume during gameplay, enabling subtitles during cutscenes in Be A Hero mode, adjusting certain colours onscreen if they are colour blind and turning on the "Creator Safe" feature which mutes all music in the game to prevent any videos from being copyright claimed should they upload footage to sites like Youtube.
