Jurina Imai was a childhood friend of Rekka Ayano and a former ninjutsu student before the events of Hero Retold: Kamen Rider Shinobi. She was also known as one of the first victims of Katsumi Takajo when she became the Kaito-Nin.

Jurina was a fellow ninja student and a classmate of Rentaro Kagura, Isamichi Konjo, and Rekka Ayano in their youths; she was also the close friend of the latter, often spending their free time together, whether just hanging out or training with each other. However, shortly before their graduation, she was attacked by the Kaito-Nin and was presumed to be murdered by the terrorist. Her body was later recovered from a swamp; her face removed and an arrow stabbed through her chest. Her death initially led Rekka to go out and seek vengeance towards the Kaito-Nin, but when she learned of the truth shortly after, she shifted her goals to bring the Kaito-Nin to justice, promising that Jurina's efforts would not entirely be in vain.

Throughout the flashbacks, it was eventually revealed that Jurina was targeted by the Kaito-Nin due to her strong affinity towards the Scarlet Hyoutan, being destined to become the next Kamen Rider Kurenai, while also bearing a striking resemblance to Katsumi Takajo, the Kaito-Nin's true identity. This infuriated the murderer as she finally tried to kill Jurina, but the latter managed to fight her off and use a powerful disrupting Genjutsu, limiting the Kaito-Nin's Noppera Bo Style technique so that her reflection would still show her true face, regardless of the disguise she took. This Genjutsu, however, took its toll on Jurina and slowly killed her. Takajo, who was the lead investigator back then, performed a mercy killing upon her request, then manipulated the crime scene in order to look like the Kaito-Nin had successfully murdered the girl, using Rekka's grief to recruit her and become Kurenai years later. Eventually, Rekka managed to arrest the Kaito-Nin, fulfilling her promise to her friend.

Notes from Writer[]
- In the early episodes where the Kaito-Nin was introduced, it was initially believed that the Kaito-Nin stole Jurina's face as one of her victims, as it was fabricated in Chief Takajo's report. It is later revealed that the two women had an uncanny resemblance to each other.
