Hero Retold: Kamen Rider Shinobi (ヒーローリトルド：仮面ライダーシノビ Hīrō Ritorudo: Kamen Raidā Shinobi^?) is a fan-made TV series adaptation, written by H_barcenas and posted on the Kamen Rider Fanfiction Wiki Page. It is based on Kamen Rider Shinobi, an original character that was introduced in Kamen Rider Zi-O. The fan fiction series continues the story set in Rider Time: Kamen Rider Shinobi, albeit with some retroactive continuity in several plot elements. The series also dives into new concepts and Riders that were hinted on in the miniseries.

Synopsis

Year 2024, two years have passed since the tragedy of the 5th Ninjutsu Championship Tournament. The government has since put proper regulations on their Ninja Act, limiting the practice of Ninjutsu to certain professionals.

At the same time, the Konjo Group has revised its methods to meet the requirements of the government, making several successful efforts to revitalize the environment through other sustainable means and modern technology, effectively ending the age of the ninja society in Japan.

However, with the new era also comes new threats as the Crimson Year of 2025 gives rise to mysterious monsters called Nin-Ju, connected with the Blood Storm. In response, Rentaro Kagura must become Kamen Rider Shinobi once again and face these new enemies and protect the people. However, with this new mission also come the new Riders, with their own stories to tell, standing with or against his crusade. The secret of the Shinobi Hyoutans and the lore of the Shinobi Riders are now brought forward.

Episodes/Arcs

The main series episodes of Hero Retold Kamen Rider Shinobi is divided into different story arcs, each focusing on the conflicts of the main characters.

Nin-Ju Arc (Episodes 1-10): The first arc introduces the concept of the Nin-Ju as the central antagonist in the series. The arc also introduces the other Riders in the series as well as their conflict with the rogue Kamen Rider Shinobi. The arc ends with the introduction of the Yami Nin-Ju and the revival of the Niji no Hebi Clan.
Shinobi Conflicts Arc (Episodes 11-19): The arc mainly centers on the conflicts between the Shinobi Riders after Rentaro's identity is revealed to them. The arc also focuses on Johnny Yoo's clash with Kirito Arma as well as the introduction of the Cho Nin-Ju, the Jonin Forms, and the Shine-Nin Mode. The arc ends with the Shinobi Riders finally setting aside their differences to focus on dealing with the Nin-Ju threats and the revived Niji no Hebi Clan.
The Kaito-Nin Arc (Episodes 20-28): This arc mainly centers around Rekka Ayano as she and the rest of the Riders face their most dangerous opponent to date: the Kaito-Nin. The arc also centers around the Riders' connection with the idol group NJN22 and their members. The arc ends with Rekka achieving the Shin Kurenai form and finally capturing the serial killer.
The Ashikage Clan Arc (Episodes 29-46): The story arc focuses on the revelations about the Royal Family, centering around its head, the antagonistic Kamen Rider Kenzai as well as their plans revolving around the Kumite of the Shinobi. After the Shinobi Riders struggle with him and the Niji no Hebi, it ends with the revival of Rentaro, assuming the Sanzu Shinobi form, and killing Kenzai in cold blood.
The Shinobi World Arc (Episodes 47- 57): With Ryo Sakurada revealing his true colors and Rentaro under his control, the rest of the Riders must make a decision on how they will handle the remaining months of the Crimson Year, especially after Ryo completes the Kumite, finally transforming to Kamen Rider Kakugane and activating the Sanzu Secret Art: Shinobi World.
The Seven-Colored Serpent Arc (Episodes 58-62): The final arc of the series.
