Episode 1: Atomize (噴霧化Funmu-ka?) is the first episode of Kamen Rider Atom. This episode marks the series debut of Kamen Rider Atom.
Synopsis[]
25 years ago, a failed experiment created the Atomerz, monsters created by mixing human genetics with animals and radiation, as a result, they were exiled into space. 25 years later, they return and only one hero can stop them: Kamen Rider Atom.
Plot[]
1996. The year scientists attempted the first infusion of animal atoms into humans, with the tragic end of the experiment and humans having to be isolated in space. At the present time, 25 years later, Tendou Kurozaki still blames himself for what happened and his son, Gaku, asks if he's alright, saying yes and saying that almost everything is ready. Gaku remembers that it's been 25 years since the tragedy and Tendou asks where his sister Yumi is, answering that she's at school and he accepts. Commander Wakashi arrives and asks about the results, and Tendou says the Atom System is ready, and they just need the ideal candidate.
At AtoMech, the Atomerz base, Zalya tells Gaidoh to calm down, but he complains that they have been in prison for over 10 years, and Rathor says that time is already running out and that they will soon return to Earth. Gaidoh would attack him if Galban didn't stop him. He orders the return to Earth and Rathor makes the order, saying that it will be useful to return after a long time.
Aruki's mom wakes him up and he falls out of bed scared, and she says he's late, and he quickly gets ready for breakfast while Regit, his Atomer, wants to play, but he says he's tired and goes to school. On the way, he talks to Regit and sees her brother Makoto, whose brother now lives at ProTex, and they start talking on the way to school. There, Makoto says he has training with Yumi and will go to class later, which his brother agrees. In training, Makoto and Yumi compete and ends up in a draw. The two talk and Makoto tries to ask her out on a date, but she says she already has something set up with her boyfriend, which she replies is Aruki, which shocks Makoto, but he doesn't react to it. Leaving the room, he hears Matoi being kicked out of the programming team, and angrily, he is found by Gaidoh who convinces him to find a new evolution for his life.
At the end of classes, Protox makes a statement at the school, explaining what happened and showing the Atom Driver, which atomizes animal and body cells to make it a super soldier, and Makoto is used as a candidate, but he doesn't manages to transform and the Atomerz appear, and Matoi becomes Jackal Atomer, starting to attack everyone and Protox tries to resolve the situation. Aruki also joins the fight and Rathor decides to pass his body to Aruki, but Makoto comes forward asking him to never give up, passing out and declaring himself Rathor, turning Bat Atomer and returning to the generals. Furious, he punches Jackal and grabs the Driver, using him and turning Kamen Rider Atom. He fights Jackal and defeats him easily, taking the DNA and Protox putting him into hibernation, standard process for people exposed to Ride Injectors.
When asked how he changed, Aruki introduces Regit, his Atomer, and Tendou remembers that his mother worked on the experiment for 25 years. Aruki says he will help them, both to protect people and to rescue his brother, and excited, Tendou tells his daughter that they have to adapt him first. At AtoMech, Gaidoh is angry at the defeat, but Zalya says it was a victory, and Rathor confirms that it was, since now, they can know a lot more about humans.
