A Blazing Live Battle! Jules VS Estelle! is the twenty-seventh episode of Tri-Ranger's Snack Warriors as well as the 180th episode of the Justice Warriors Series overall.

This episode features the debut of the Subfreezing Sorbet Junkie and its respective form of the same name as well as Jules BenoƮt/Snack Warrior Guimauve's first transformation into said form.

Synopsis

Jules is thrilled to be able to perform at the Blue Rock Festival, where he meets his idol and step sister, Estelle. However, when their showtimes overlap, Jules is discouraged by the incredibly small crowd. His friends try to cheer him up, but a failed attempt drives him away. Suddenly, when DaphnƩ shows up to draw out the Flavour Spark, she happens to stumble upon Jules...

Plot

Jules is practicing with his band, Wild Azur, one day when it's been revealed that the group was invited to perform in the upcoming Blue Rock Festival. Jules is very excited as he then recalls that his step sister Estelle will be performing there too.

Meanwhile, the Snack Warriors are at the Sweet Tooth trying to determine why Keinosuke's sphere became an animal statue and granted him the ability to fly. They don't have any ideas as they compare it to their own, which are still spheres. Jules then bursts into the room just then to reveal the good news, but when Keinosuke expresses confusion they explain what a rock festival is before congratulating him. Jules claims they were only accepted due to another band breaking up, but he's happy regardless.

Come the first day of the festival the following morning, Wild Azur arrives just in time to spot Ganache arrive. Estelle begins speaking to her flustered younger brother while revealing it was she who chose them to replace the other group, as she's had her eye on them since seeing their battle performance. Jules is very excited, and before Estelle goes he asks for her autograph, leaving Estelle curious as she brings up how performing on the same stage as him was her dream. She takes off and Gaston goes on to tell her group something troubling; the same information that CĆ©line reveals to the other bakers after they show up for support: Ganache will have two seprate performances, one of which will take place at the same time as Wild Azur's performance. They will both be performing on alternate stages in a battle to see which group garners more attention from the crowd.

Wild Azur is beginning to feel the pressure of having to go against Estelle's group while Jules remains hopeful things will work out since Estelle approved of them anyway, but after stepping out on stage to find a handful of fans awaiting, he starts to feel hopeless as his friends try to cheer for him. He does his best singing until overhearing the audience from Ganache's stage, which causes him to freeze up, and seeing some people leave causes him further anxiety. After finishing the song, he thanks those who remained there and abruptly leaves the stage, where the group sadly stand feeling defeat. Gaston attempts to help Jules realize that he still got a precious memory from this event, in that he was able to stand on stage along with Estelle, and Jules attempts to put on a smile and agree with him. He acknowledges that they were up against a tough opponent, so they couldn't have expected to win. The others agree but none of them are able to shake off their feelings of disappointment.

That evening, Jules heads to the Sweet Tooth while the other teens discuss how the day went. They wanted Jules to succeed and thought he did well, but Marinette brings up that comparing his group to Ganache left them feeling the way they did now because they focused on it so much. But this is why they want to make sweets for Jules to encourage him. Jules forces another smile before entering the room, and he acts like his normal self as the group become flustered by his sudden appearance. Theo quickly claims they were going to make some ice cream and he decides to stick around to lend a hand. They prepare several scoops with both heart and spherical molds, but once they finish the bakers note that while they taste good, they have a tough and chewy texture rather than a soft and milky one. Theo happily remarks on how it reminds him of Jules, but he mistakenly takes this the wrong way as the others comment as well, leading him to think that just being him -a failure- isn't good enough. Jules would then start crying as he runs from the building.

Meanwhile, DaphnƩ begins sucking up Flavour Spark when she suddenly spots Jules running from the rock festival grounds until he collapses in grief as he cries while asking for answers. The villain approaches him to claim he is feeling envious, and she wants to cultivate the shadows within him. Jules barely manages to dodge the first card she throws at him, but DaphnƩ throws several more that grab Jules and force him to stand still. He tries to ignore her as she brings up his lack of skill in being able to keep up with others, even his friends. She takes out another card and manages to brainwash Jules, making him transform into Snack Warrior Guimauve as the others arrive. DaphnƩ leaves after telling Jules to get rid of those who hurt him, and he heads back to the festival grounds, destroying whatever gets in his path.

The others attempt to snap him out of it after they transform and DaphnƩ transforms into GƩlatine to stop them. She encourages Guimauve to destroy the stage but Gommeux yells at him not to; he loves the stage more than anything, and he'd never resort to something like this. Guimauve slowly snaps out of his brainwashing as he envisions himself singing, and he remembers how much the stage means to him and his dream. He wants to keep reaching further, so he must keep going. Guimauve cries as his ambitions reach out to his sphere as it splits apart, one half transforms into a lion statue whilst the other turns into a new Junkie. He turns back into his regular self and thanks the others for their help, then he turns to DaphnƩ and tells her that all of his feelings that he has, those of envy and likewise, are what need to be put into his music.

Encouraged once more, Jules uses the new Junkie to transform into a new type of form that Danny refers to as "Subfreezing Sorbet". Jules then uses his new ice magic powers to freeze the monsters arms together before the others use Flavour Spark energy to toss it into the air, followed by GĆ¢teau purifying it. With her defeat, things return to normal and DaphnĆ© takes off. Jules happily tells her that he'll perform the best song for her next time, and Bonbon makes a comment that brings inspiration to Gommeux.

The following day, Wild Azur return to the audience to watch Ganache perform, then they head backstage to personally visit Estelle when she finishes. Jules presents her with a chewy blueberry whale ice cream and explains how she aspires him to be this way. He then exchanges a handshake with his step sister while promising not to lose next time they meet.
