Plot[]

Kamen Rider Kenzai readies his stance as Kamen Rider Hattari holds down the Camo Cho Nin-Ju. A teary Haruka pleads them to stop, but Kenzai dashes forward, unleashing the Sanzu Secret Art: Clear Moon Still Water technique, with Haruka shouting her brother's name in despair. However, before it hits the beast, Shinobi intercepts him, changing to Jonin-Kurenai Form and activating Fastest Finish Ninpo to clash with Kenzai’s maneuver. The force between the techniques emits a powerful shockwave that momentarily disrupts the Crimson Year’s red moon, turning it back to its original color for a few seconds. Hattari then uses this chance to stab the Nin-Ju with multiple Sanzu Starters, destabilizing it, before knocking the beast back, forcing Kyoya out of its body. With the Cho Nin-Ju weakened, Hattari hits it with the Fantastic Ninpo Rider Kick, before sealing it among the multiple Sanzu Starters, dividing its powers among the Black Shurikens that turn green. Haruka runs toward an unconscious Kyoya, trying to wake him up, but Hattari reassures him that he’s only exhausted, telling her to take care of him for the meantime as Shinobi gets thrown back, reverting him to his base form. Kenzai becomes enraged over the two manipulating him, but Hattari jeers at him asking if he couldn’t take being made a fool of. Kenzai shouts that he will not forgive him as he charges towards the two Riders.

Shinobi picks up two Sanzu Starters and tosses one to Hattari, asking if he can handle it. Hattari assures him positively as the two Sanzu Starters turn into two Kusarigama Key-S. Both Shinobi and Hattari equip these into their Mirai Drivers, transforming the two into their Jonin-Saizo Forms. The two Riders proceed to fight and hold back Kenzai. Despite Kenzai still overpowering both Riders, Shinobi and Hattari’s combination attacks level their battle, with Hattari managing to knock Kenzai back with a charged arrow strike. Shinobi then uses the Claws to swarm Kenzai, pushing him back further, before he activates Kakumei Finish Ninpo, while Hattari charges and unleashes Fantastic Strike Ninpo. The double finishers manage to knock Kenzai down and force him out of his transformation, as Iroha drops in and escapes with Kunimitsu. With the situation momentarily cleared, the two cancel their forms to approach a still sobbing Haruka, who continuously thank the two of them for saving his brother. However, Rentaro suddenly coughs up blood and drops down to one knee, muttering that his sword technique was really powerful, while Isamichi checks-up on him.

"In the beginning, there was no thought, no order, no harmony. There was only chaos, chaos brought forth by one thing – Power. Over time, this power bore form along with the humans who brought order to the lands, a serpent bearing different colors that signified its unrivaled strength. As people sought to maintain peace and harmony, they sought to appease the beast to no avail, for it only knew destruction, no morality, no restraint, no compassion."

- 3rd Scroll, as read by Rentaro Kagura.

Iroha helps Kunimitsu back to the palace, where she tries to tend to him and his injuries once again. However, Kunimitsu pushes her away, telling her to get off as he goes into a rage-filled tirade in his room. Iroha falls down and as she hits the ground, she suddenly sees some visions from her past, particularly about Rentaro and Isamichi, hurting her head once again. Gamano walks in and asks what had happened, but Kunimitsu draws his blade and tells everyone to get out. Gamano assists Iroha out of the Head’s room before declaring that the next stage of the Kumite had been completed. Iroha suddenly slaps Gamano, saying that the previous stage nearly cost them her brother's life. She then starts to question the entire purpose of the Kumite, considering that it seems Rentaro is the only one benefiting from all of this. Gamano stands up and recomposes himself, saying that the Head has his reasons for the Kumite and it is more than just about the Crimson Year. Iroha then orders Gamano to show him what he meant.

The next morning, Director Ryo Sakurada and a few doctors and nurses from his hospital visit Rentaro’s home to examine Kyoya, noting that his condition is already improving after his transformation and that he would regain his consciousness in no time. Meanwhile, another doctor checks-up on Rentaro, stating that he cracked a few of his ribs during the previous fight. After wrapping another wad of bandage around his chest and waist, he is told to refrain from engaging in another battle until completely healed. As these were going on, Ryo Sakurada meets up with Isamichi, informing him of the sudden changes with the Konjo Group’s itinerary after he left. He states that most of the projects and business ventures are now shifting towards pro-ninja movements, pretty much reverting the company as it was before the tragedy. Isamichi bows his head in disappointment, especially after learning that Iroha is now heading all of these campaigns. Ryo urges him to not give up, considering that his father still has the final say with what is going on in the company's reformation. However, Isamichi completely dismisses what Ryo said, believing that his father is pretty much on-board with all the ninja-centric activities in the group. Ryo simply smiles, before saying that he should give his father more credit with what’s happening. Isamichi becomes intrigued and asks what he meant, but the doctors complete their examinations and are ready to head out. Director Sakurada also preps to leave, simply saying that everyone has a reason for doing what they do, and he should let his father’s actions resonate with him for once, but this simply confuses Isamichi more.

With Director Sakurada and his medical team leaving, Mouri and Oba also excuse themselves as they also have to go back to the MPD precinct. Oba still needs to follow up on Rekka’s disappearance, while Mouri has to assist in Yabe’s legal proceedings and meet the attorney who will handle his case. Rentaro groggily leads everyone out of the house, before nearly collapsing from the pain, but Akane catches him back up, telling him to ease up a bit and let other people help him for once. Rentaro just laughs, saying it’s been a force of habit before he lets her assist him.

That afternoon, Haruka continues to sit by a sleeping Kyoya, recalling what had happened hours ago. There, she questions how they knew how to separate the Cho Nin-Ju from his body. Rentaro confesses that everything they did that night was a gamble, all the way through Shinobi blocking Kenzai’s attack. Not once did they knew that the clash would momentarily part the Crimson Year’s influence and that they only intended to stick more Sanzu Starters onto the Cho Nin-Ju, if that’s what it took. Haruka tears up at the revelation, shocked that the entire thing was just a random guess. Rentaro stands up and tells her that what she did was a gamble and it cost her; it is only fitting that they win it back with a gamble of their own. Haruka finally bursts into tears, bowing before Rentaro and Isamichi, repeatedly thanking the two of them. Back in the present, she once again tears up, but surprisingly, Kyoya lifts his finger and catches her tears, telling her that she’s not very pretty when crying. Haruka chokes up but smiles upon seeing Kyoya finally awake.

That evening, Kyoya and Haruka sit before Rentaro, Isamichi, Akane, and the rest of NJN22, before completely bowing and apologizing for everything. The two enumerate everything they had done until now, especially with the commotions regarding the Camo Cho Nin-Ju. The two continue bowing before the rest and Rentaro finally speaks, saying that what they did was a gamble. And while that gamble saved Kyoya, it also put them right back on track towards the Kumite’s completion, giving the Ashikage clan what they wanted all along. He then stands up and says that whatever edge they need to turn the Crimson Year around, they’ll take. He starts leaving the room, before saying that he’s counting on the two of them, surprising both Kyoya and Haruka as Rentaro disappears. Isamichi and Akane smile at each other before leaving as well, taking Kyoya with them and leaving all five NJN22 members inside. After a few minutes of silence, Haruka once again bows before her groupmates, apologizing for everything. This time, Yukari speaks that a lot has happened this past few months and through it all, NJN22 stuck through it all. Luna chimes in, however, saying that this situation is their breaking point. Similarly, Satomi quietly says that they are not so sure if they should continue like this… The last statement shocks Haruka as she looks up, tearing up once again. Suddenly, she sees a long list of food that the four wrote down before Amily says that after all, they are very hungry. The girls start laughing after successfully pranking Haruka, before revealing that they are punishing her by letting her treat them all with the food on the list. Haruka starts crying tears of joy as the five girls hug it all out and start cheering on, while Kyoya overhears them outside together with Akane, Rentaro, and Isamichi. As the girls liven up, Satomi receives a message and it pings her a map. Satomi silently says that he found it, but keeps it to herself as NJN22 continues to cheer Haruka back up.

Meanwhile, Master Gamano leads Iroha down to a dark cavern that same night, using only a torchlight to guide them to a path. As they reach a certain point, she suddenly feels immense pressure, as if energy has been sucked out of her. Gamano then shows her the end of their destination, seeing a large pod inside the deep cavern. Upon seeing it, she gets shocked as she sees a massive seven-colored snake in deep slumber inside. Gamano explains that this is the secret of the Ashikage clan, the reason for the Kumite.

As Iroha looks on, the serpent opens its eyes and upon gazing at it, she feels a sharp pain in her head as many memories suddenly start flowing back to her head. Gamano tries checking up on her but she pulls out a kunai and slashes at him to get back. Though still stunned, she nevertheless says that she recalled everything, before telling Gamano to get back. However, Kunimitsu suddenly appears behind her and knocks her out, saying that this is one defiance too far. Gamano immediately bows down before apologizing, as Kunimitsu carries Iroha and aggressively states that the Kumite will go into a different phase, declaring that Rentaro Kagura will die, once and for all. Gamano nearly interjects but once he feels the Head’s strong malice, he could only bow down before him while the serpent falls to sleep once again. The place then zooms out, revealing that the cavern was under the large Foundation X facility all along. At the same time, Johnny looks on to the place from a distance, before jumping out of view.
